4-4.21 Procedures Upon Receipt of a Consultation from Another Agency Whenever the Postal Service receives a consultation request from another agency, it must respond as promptly as practical to facilitate the other agency’s ability to finalize its response to the request. Upon receipt of a consultation, custodians must take the following steps: Contact the Privacy and Records Management Office to ensure a FOIA tracking number is assigned to the consultation request. Promptly provide the Postal Service’s views on the disclosability of the contents of the records to the agency seeking the consultation.
